Type

Basalt fiber Armalit_BASALT is intended for use in construction, as a highly effective additive for strengthening concrete structures.

Reinforcing additive for spatial micro-reinforcement of concrete solutions and building mixtures (industrial floors, underfloor heating screeds, foundations, etc.).

Recommended estimated consumption: 0.6-4 kg per 1 m3 of solution.

Fiber 12 mm long is recommended for use in screeds with a fine filler fraction.

Basalt fiber Armalit_BASALT

Fiber 24 mm long is recommended for use in solutions with a medium filler fraction, including for critical structures (industrial floors, highways, bridges, tunnels, etc.).

Fiber is shipped in multiples of 0.6/0.9/20 kg in packaging.

Application areas of basalt fiber Armalit_BASALT:

– all types of screeds (upper layers of industrial floors, heated floors, high-quality preparation of surfaces for laying decorative coatings, sports grounds, blind areas, etc.)
industrial floors of any purpose (industrial logistics complexes with high loads and traffic, livestock farms and grain storage facilities with aggressive influence of animal waste and from the storage of raw materials of plant origin, industrial floors of processing plants where both high loads and possible negative influence of substances used in the production process are combined, bases of sports grounds, blind areas, etc.)
all types of protective screeds for concrete structures operating in aggressive environments (in contact with water, service stations, car washes, artificial reservoirs, swimming pools, fountains, chemical tanks, floors of agricultural production, poultry farms, farms, etc.)
– for reinforcing structural layers of road pavement, bridge decks, tram tracks, etc. Adding fiber allows you to reduce the thickness of the base of the reinforced decks, while further reducing the effect of the tracks from the operation of the decks and increasing the time between repairs, making these repairs planned, not emergency. This significantly increases the efficiency and quality of road construction.

Advantages of using basalt fiber Armalit_BASALT:

Basalt fiber is an ideal natural reinforcing material with advantages that cannot be copied. Unlike and in addition to the closest similar products, steel or polypropylene, basalt fiber has the following advantages:

  • Absolute corrosion resistance and alkali resistance performs its reinforcing functions throughout the entire service life of the concrete structure or mortar layer.
  • Low linear and temperature expansions and ideal adhesion to concrete, unlike all other reinforcing materials, make the structure reliable even in extremely difficult operating conditions.
  • Does not affect the concrete pouring process and does not damage the concrete pump.
  • Does not delaminate in liquid concrete.
  • Significantly imparts fire resistance to fiber concrete.
  • The high density of basalt is naturally as close as possible to the density of concrete components, due to which basalt fiber is ideally embedded in concrete to perform its reinforcement tasks.
  • The natural structure of basalt fiber allows for high-quality grinding of the concrete surface with its subsequent use without additional expensive operations to apply protective coatings or sealing; all these functions are performed by basalt fiber in concrete.
  • There are no restrictions on use.

Polypropylene fiber has the following disadvantages:

  • does not reinforce concrete (it is intended solely to prevent shrinkage cracks);
  • low density contributes to uneven distribution (floats up) in the concrete solution, which negatively affects the results of finishing the surfaces of concrete structures, where it is important;
  • low tensile strength;
  • low modulus of elasticity;
  • high coefficient of relative elongation;
  • low melting point (160 ° C);
  • low ignition temperature (320°C);
  • during the process of concrete grinding, numerous cavities may appear on the finished surface, which requires further additional expensive operations and materials to form a topping coating for the concrete base.

Steel fiber has the following disadvantages:

  • prone to rapid destructive effects of corrosion;
  • stratifies, is unevenly distributed (precipitates) in the concrete solution, which negatively affects the quality of reinforcement;
  • has a very high density, which differs significantly from the components of the concrete mix and in this case, under impact or vibration loads, does not preserve the concrete, but on the contrary, itself increases destructive deformations in the concrete;
  • damages and leads to rapid wear of concreting equipment during construction; damages equipment for servicing facilities (loaders, stackers, etc.), already at the initial stages of operation of foundations and floors reinforced with steel fiber begins to stick out of the concrete;
  • requires significant logistics costs associated with high weight, 6 times higher than basalt fiber; the use of steel fiber is 40% more expensive with the same parameters of force load than when using basalt fiber;
